We understand that transition will be an exciting and anxious time for pupils as they begin their new journey at secondary school.
As such, we have formed good links with our partner primary schools and run a full programme to ensure the transition between primary and secondary is as smooth as possible.
We have a trained group of Year 8 students as buddies. Their role is to help new Year 7 students find their way around the school and offer them support and advice should they need it.
Before pupils begin their journey at Chiltern Academy, they will have the opportunity to visit the school site and spend two days experiencing what life is like at Chiltern. They will work with their form tutors and their new class, while also getting to know their future subject teachers. The extensive induction programme gives pupils the opportunity to settle in and understand our standards and expectations. This will ensure all pupils are able to maximise the opportunities available to them and become excellent ambassadors for Chiltern Academy and the wider community.
