“In 2018 Luton will need 180 extra secondary school places.”

The Chiltern Academy will be run by the Trust that already runs Luton’s two highest performing secondary schools.

Final plans submitted for the new Chiltern Academy

26 April 2016

We are very pleased to announce that the planning application for the Chiltern Academy has been submitted.

The new academy will help to meet the projected shortage of secondary school places within the town and will provide local parents and carers with an exceptional new school for their children and a superb local resource.

There has been strong support from the community throughout the various consultations that have taken place and it is our firm intention that the new school will provide an outstanding education for the young people in our care, just as we already provide for around 2000 students in our existing secondary schools which are both judged to be Outstanding.

The application that has been submitted places the school on the site of The Brache in Gipsy Lane and a drawing of the proposed buildings can be seen below.
